Elói João Faria Figueiredo
PhD in Civil Engineering (2010), MSc in Structures of Civil Engineering (2007), and Licentiate in Civil Engineering (2004). Eloi started teaching in 2010 at the Catholic University of Portugal and is, currently, Associate Professor at the Faculty of Engineering of the Lusófona University in Lisbon (Portugal). He is integrated member of Construct – Institute of R&D in Structures and Construction. He also collaborate with DREAMS – Centre for Interdisciplinary Development and Research on Environment, Applied Management and Space and Laboratório Experimental de Arquitetura e Urbanismo (LEAU). He is also consultant in the field of monitoring and management of bridges. Eloi has dedicated his academic career teaching courses in the field of static and dynamic structural analysis, soil mechanics, foundation engineering design, seismic engineering, as well as design of reinforced and prestressed concrete structures. In terms of scientific research, he has worked mainly on Structural Health Monitoring (SHM) and management of bridges, especially on vibration-based structural identification and damage identification based on finite element modeling and machine learning techniques. In terms of scientific publications, in 10 years, he has over 60 publications on SHM through books, book chapters, peer-reviewed journals, conference proceedings, and dissertations. He was also invited, for several occasions, to be speaker in conferences, seminars, and international meetings.
